The Big Debate in Brighton recently discussed the added social value that businesses can deliver to local communities. It’s something Metrobus and Brighton & Hove Buses have always pursued.
Martin said: “The debate certainly adds new impetus to our mission of delivering both the profitability the city needs and the social value our communities need. I’ve heard the challenge and the challenge is: ‘how do we decide whether our bus company is simply providing what a good bus company should, or is it, in fact, delivering something over and above that?’
“It’s an absolutely fair challenge, and to answer it we must become even more ambitious, creative and collaborative in our work to deliver extra value activities.”
