The Green Centre’s Creative Director Melanie Rees got back in touch with the company to offer her thanks following the donation which was part of the company’s ongoing work to support community groups.
She said: “We have now been using the van, you kindly donated to the Green Centre, for a few months and I am delighted to share with you how it has transformed our working lives.
“We have shelved the van out and now all the items we recycle are arranged in a neat and orderly fashion. There is room in the van for our entire stall which we unload at the Open Market every Thursday and space for all the recycling people bring to us.
“In addition to the benefits for our work, on a personal note, I have been able to reclaim my car and use it for social purposes for the first time in six months.
“Once again, please accept our sincerest gratitude for your kind donation.”
Brighton & Hove Buses has been updating its diesel vans – used to shuttle drivers to changeover points – with fully electric models and now has a total of 13 in service.
