Promoting inclusion and diversity at work

Inclusion Aneesa ChaudhryInspirational industry-leading speakers helped Go-Ahead bus and rail companies to celebrate togetherness at the first inclusion and diversity conference for managers in the business. 

The June event was a collaboration between Brighton & Hove Buses, Metrobus and rail partners and developed by Brighton Hove Buses’ Managing Director Martin Harris. 

Around 100 managers and diversity and engagement champions heard from speakers and attended workshops during the full-day event held at the Amex Stadium, Brighton on subjects ranging from gender intelligence and cultural awareness to becoming a disability confident employer, leading and implementing gender equality, body confidence and my voice matters. 

Martin said: “This was a pioneering event for the business and demonstratehow much inclusion and diversity matters in our company and to encourage our managers to live by these values in everything they do. It’s not just the right thing to do, but, as we heard on the day, the evidence points to diverse teams performing better so it’s good for business too.
